Library reserve services

The Library offers two kinds of reserve services:

1.  If all the students in a class are required to read a book or watch a DVD, the Library can keep it on reserve at the first floor service desk.  Each student borrows the item with his/her Gallaudet ID on a first-come, first-served basis for up to two hours.  The item may not be taken from the Library.  The item is kept on reserve till the end of the semester.

If the Library does not own an item, you may put your own copy on reserve. The Library will make every effort to protect it, but we cannot guarantee prevention of loss or damage.

To put an item on reserve, please print the form linked at the bottom of this page.   Complete it, gather the items, and take everything to the first floor service desk.  Your items will be placed on reserve within two business days.

2.   If all the students in a class are required to read a journal article or book chapter, the Library can post it on Blackboard and make sure the posting complies with copyright laws.   Please see the tab "Post required readings on Blackboard" for details.
