You may click any of the yellow tabs at the top of this page:

    • Need help? has links to contact information.
    • Our web site will help you navigate through the deaf-related pages of the Library's web site.
    • Biographies is designed to help you find biographical information about individual deaf people.
    • Books and videos tells you how to find books and videos that are owned by Gallaudet University Library
    • Journal articles recommends ways to find articles in specific disciplines such as education and counseling.  Scroll over the yellow tab and click any category.
    • Dissertations tells you how to find dissertations online and in Gallaudet University Library.

    • Interlibrary loan explains how Gallaudet users can request items from other libraries, and how non-Gallaudet people can request items from Gallaudet.

There is no single comprehensive online source of deaf information. If you are doing in-depth research, you may have to search in several places.

Access to the sources discussed depends on both the status of the individual researcher and the format of the sources.  Sources may be

      • only available in Gallaudet University Library (you must come to the Library to use them)
      • only available online to current Gallaudet students, faculty, and staff member (though they may be accessible to other students through their own academic institutions)
      • available online to anyone
