Gallaudet University Library is open to the public. Visitors are welcome to use Library materials in the Library.
Borrowing is restricted to visitors with current IDs from Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) member institutions.
Access to computers is restricted to visitors:
- with current IDs from Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) member institutions
- who are doing deaf-related research
Visitors who are doing deaf-related research and will be on campus for an extended period of time are encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org in advance.
Online visitors are welcome to browse through our web site.
Below is a list of databases are accessible to the public. Additional public databases are accessible via the Deaf Collections & Archives web site.
Catalog (list of books, videos, and journal subscriptions). Use either the "Classic Catalog" link or the search box on our home page.
Visitor access to electronic books is limited. They are not available remotely; they can only be accessed in the Library. Visitors with current IDs from Washington Research Library Consortium member institutions may access all Gallaudet e-books. Access to e-books by other visitors may be restricted. Visitors are encouraged to contact the Library before coming to the Library to use e-books.
Visitors may not access e-books on laptops, and visitors may not download, copy, or print from e-books.
