Copy machines are temporarily unavailable.

The Library has two photocopiers on the first floor.  You must have a copy card to pay for copies.  You can buy a copy card with cash or a Gallaudet Interdepartmental Invoice.  Each card costs 50 cents.  Each copy costs 10 cents.

To buy a card with cash

A card vending machine is next to the copiers. The machine accepts $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills.  The cost of the card is automatically deducted from the card value. Examples:

  • if you use $1, you can make five copies
  • if you use $2, you can make 15 copies

Insert your cash into the machine and push the red button.

To add value to your card with cash

Insert your card and cash into the machine and push the red button. The card has already been paid for, so no value is deducted. Example:

  • if you add $1, you can make 10 additional copies

To buy or add value with funds from a Gallaudet University department

  • Complete an Interdepartmental Invoice. Credit to:
    1. Department: Reprographic Services / 4500
    2. Expense Account: Leave this field blank
  • Take the form to the Service Desk

To make copies
Insert your card into the card reader attached to the machine you wish to use. The reader shows how much value is on the card, and deducts value each time you make a copy.

When you are finished using your card, keep it. You may add value to it later. Sign the back of it. If you lose your card and we find it, we will keep it for you at the Service Desk Lost and Found.

The Library has three scanners on the first floor. One is for microfilm and two are for paper.  There is no charge for scanning.

Visitors who need help scanning should ask at the Service Desk.

Print from a computer

Current Gallaudet students who have a print balance may use the Library's black and white printers.  For print balance questions, students should see staff in Gallaudet Technology Service's Harking Digital Learning Center, JSAC 1100.

Other people may save online documents as PDFs and download them to a USB or email them.
