Introduction
This guide explains how to request an item that is not available at Gallaudet University Library.
The first step is to try to get the item from another Washington Research Library Consortium [link to WRLC information guide] (WRLC) library. If it is available, you may go to the owning library and use it there. If it is a "circulating" book or video, you may also borrow it.
Alternatively, you may make an online request to have the item
- sent to Gallaudet for you to borrow (if it's a book or video)
- copied and sent to you (if it's a journal article)
If the item is not available from any WRLC library, you may ask us to get it for you through a process called "interlibrary loan."
