Deaf Feature Films

How to find Deaf feature films in the Gallaudet University Library

To find films in the Gallaudet University Library that feature a Deaf actor, Deaf author, or Deaf plot or storyline, access the WRLC catalog, click on the search box and type in:

deaf and "feature films"

  • in the "By" box, select "Keyword (AND, OR, NOT)"
  • select "Gallaudet" from the drop-down menu in the "Limit by Location" box.
  • click the search button

Where to find Deaf films in the Gallaudet University Library

  • Deaf films are located in Deaf VHS and Deaf DVDs ranges on the first floor of the Gallaudet University Library. Look for the large signs on the end of ranges near the public computers.
  • Videos may be be borrowed for three days. Only three videos may be borrowed at a time.
  • If you don't find the Deaf video you want, ask at the Library Service Desk about the non-circulating copy in the Deaf Copy One room. Videos from the Deaf Copy One room do not leave the building. Videos may viewed on players in Room 1404 or the Deaf Resources Library Room 1220 on the first floor of the library.
